Appraisals
We are proud to offer on-site jewelry appraisals completed by one of our two GIA Gemologists. With the use of the most precise gemological equipment, we will evaluate your piece of jewelry and give you an accurate appraisal value. We can do three different types of appraisals: insurance, estate and current market stress liquidation.
Most jewelry appraisals are done for insurance purposes and should be added to yours home owners or renters insurance policies as a “rider” to assure that if your jewelry is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be properly compensated. Our Gemologists will provide you with the most up to date value of your jewelry, which should be updated every 3-5 years.
All of our appraisals are done in house and require approximately 1-2 days for proper cleaning, inspection and grading. We know how valuable and precious your jewelry is to you and assure that we will use the utmost care with your pieces. Our family has been in the jewelry business over 60 years, our reputation means everything and we will stand behind our work.
Our appraisals include color and clarity of stones where applicable, dimensions, size and weight.Mountings will be measured, identified, described and photographedand the values will be assessed.
Pricing for appraisals are $75.00 for the first item, each additional item will be $45.00 for items that are not purchased from our store. As always appraisals for jewelry purchased from Leightons Fine Diamonds is free for our customers.
If your jewelry contains diamonds or colored stones that are graded by a gemological laboratory, please bring the certification paper work with you when leaving items for appraisal. Our gemologists will verify the stone matches the certification and attach copies to your appraisal.

Complimentary Diamond Setting
Our professional jeweler will set your diamond in your engagement ring at no charge when you purchase the mounting and the diamond from Leighton’s.
Complimentary Ring Sizing
Leighton’s will size your ring up or down two whole sizes at no charge on your new engagement rings and wedding bands purchased in our store. This does not include alternative metal i.e. titanium, tungsten, stainless steel or ceramic.
Lifetime Cleaning & Inspection
At Leighton’s we will always clean and inspect you jewelry at no charge. This gives you two benefits, your jewelry looks great and you will know that your stones are secure & your mountings are good structurally (if they aren’t, we can fix it before it becomes a problem).
Lifetime Diamond Trade-up Policy
No matter what size of diamond you choose today, you have the trade-up policy that you can use at any time. Trading-up your diamond to a larger or better quality diamond means that we will credit you the full amount you paid for your diamond, as long as the value of the new purchase is double of the original purchase.
Diamond Guarantee
We guarantee your purchase of Leighton's diamonds100% of the time. Not only do we want you to be totally satisfied with your diamond, but also enjoy it for a lifetime. All items purchased may be returned for a full refund within 30 days of the date of your purchase. Secondly all items purchased may be exchanged 60 days from the date of your purchase for equal or greater value.
Conflict Diamonds Guarantee
We certify that the diamonds at Leighton’s have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with the Untied Nations resolution. We therefore guarantee that these diamonds are certified to be from sources that are free from conflict, bases on personal knowledge, and/or written guarantees provided by the suppliers of these diamonds.
